Lotus Hope Counseling, LLC.  Mission

Lotus Hope Counseling, LLC is a mental health private practice founded and operated by a professional counselor with a clear vision to support and aid our clients in their healing journey and transformation into the best version of themselves. Life challenges can occur gradually over time or onset abruptly. Either way, there is hope.

At Lotus Hope Counseling, I believe that a person can rise above adverse conditions no matter how murky or slimy the waters are. This is done with a therapeutic alliance between the client and the counselor, which an individualized treatment is developed to address each client's unique needs and desires. The counselor will support, aid and guide the client through processing the past, identifying present patterns and taking steps toward long lasting changes while addressing the client’s fears, challenges and worries along the way.

Crystal  M Schmidt MA, NCC, LPC

I have been working in the field since 2016 as a licensed professional counselor  working with diverse populations who struggle with mental health and/or addiction across a lifespan. This includes but not limited to: anxiety, depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, trauma, and adjustment to transitions. I strive to promote my clients' personal growth by supporting, aiding and guiding the client in processing their past, identifying current patterns and creating lasting changes so they can transform into what they define as the best version of themselves.

As a strength based counselor, I believe we all have the skills and capacity to change and grow. At times, we just need someone to guide and assist us through this transformation and difficult times. I place a strong emphasis on the use of  Person-centered and mindfulness in counseling. I believe that the relationship is what guides healing. Therefore, I provide an authentic, strength-based and holistic treatment experience.

I am the owner of Lotus Hope Counseling, LLC. I graduated from Waynesburg University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and again in 2014 with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health. Although, I have worked in the mental health field for over 10 years, I became a Nationally Certified Counselor in 2014 and a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2016. Remaining educated and current in the field of counseling is important to me. Therefore, I have continued my education and working toward my drug and alcohol certification to better serve the clients that I see in private practice.
